The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. I NAVA HD ( OR R ESPONDENCE. From W.C.R.V. requesting the President to present the Knnieri Club with the senior cup at that Club’s ball on Wednesday evening.—Received and request granted. From Ross Ci'uh notifying a cup had been received from .Mr Mc.Mullan and asking for date to be fixed lor sevenaside tournament. —Received. it was resolved to bold the seven-aside at Ross on August 13th, nominations to close , next Monday evening. Nominations for the junior knockout competition were received from Kokatahi, Excelsiors and Eimu teams. The draw resulted:— August (i.—Rinm v. Excelsiors at Hokitika; Kokatahi a hye. Ah- .McGregor moved that a deputation of members of the Rub-Union wait on the W.C.R.U. to discuss the question of a more even distribution ot representative matches at Hokitika. Seconded by -Mr Cutbush and carried. It was resolved the junior representative match he played on August 20th. instead of as a curtain raiser to the Ashburton match. No eight-stone competition matches were set down tor this week. The selectors were instructed to select a senior Westland representative team to pi'ay Ashburton and also the juniors to piny Grevmouth at Hokitika. It was resolved to request Clubs to pay all outstanding nomination fees at once. X.R.W. v. VICTORIA. SYDNEY, ' In tbc Rugby Union mutch to-day New South Wales beat Victoria by 19 to 13.
