LATE LOCALS.
The Court of Arbitration will sit at Hokitika on Tuesday, 9th August at 10 a.m. The Kanieri Football Club's ball takes place to-morrow evening at Kanieri. The music will be supplied by Boss’ Orchestra and the President of the AA’estland Sub-Union will take the opportunity of presenting the Senior Cup, won bv Kanieri. during an interval in the dancing. A successful meeting of the Ladies’ Committee of the forthcoming Hospital Ball was held last night in the Board rooms. Airs J. J. Breeze, presiding. Considerable progress was made in connection with the various arrangements necessary for the success of the function. The Following committees were agreed upon :— Decorating, Ales, dames Baird, Paterson, Urquhart, Williams anil Aliss AA allace. Supper - Afesdames. Breeze, Benjamin, Parkhill. Jeffries. Davidson and Heinz. The town was divided into areas for can vassing and the collectors will wait upon the residents within the next few days. Tickets are available from any member of the committees:
