A gathering under the Presidency of the Mayoress (Mrs G. A. Perry) was held in the Town Hall last night to welcome the Dominion Organiser. Miss McLav, of Auckland.
A very informative and inteiosting address on the work sought to be accomplished by this movement, was gi'en by the visitor under the title of the World's Greatest AA’omen’s Club, wherein she demonstrated the fact that from the Cradle Roll, through the L.T.U. and A', branches up to the senior movement the institution sought to educate, inspire and create a worthy citizenship for the women of the world, and claimed that as a result of the obtaining of women’s franchise in the Dominion largely by the efforts of this movement already fruit was being borne in a large number of humanitarian acts placed upon the Statute Book. A number of new members were enrolled and encouraging reports were given of meetings held at Kanieri. Woodstock and Ross.
