Li connection with the shooting tragedy cabled to-day it is stated that the man I/eet formed strong attachment for the woman James, uliicli was not returned. Loot was most persistent in his attentions making numerous presents to her, which she always refused. AVheii Ali.ss James entered her bedroom, Loot, who had secreted himself there, confronted her with an armed repeating rifle. A quarrel immediately followed, and a shot was fired. Airs Woods rushed from her adjoining bedroom between the two. She saw 1 the woman James u-a.s shot, hut before she could catch hold of her. another was fired, and both women fell. Loot then turned the rifle upon himself, and lie fell beside the women. Leet dic'd shortly after admission to the hospital. The woman James was killed instantaneously. Airs AVoods is expected to recover.
