KING OF ROUMANIA DEAD

LONDON, July 10. The “ Exchange’s ” Berlin correspondent reports the death of the King ot Roumania. The Council of Regency has taken over the administration. King Ferdinand was a son of Prince Leopold and a nephew of the former king. He was horn in 1865 and succeeded to the throne on October lOtli, 1914.

The Government have issued a proclamation stating the first King of Greater Roumania was cut off after a glorious reign in which was realised the ancient dream of our people. AAe weep uncomforted lor the death of the greatest and best of all Roumanians, who was peerless in an understanding and decision during the war, wise and good in peace. He will ever remain in the hearts of the people. A\ e will never forget there was not a sacrifice which King Ferdinand did not make for hiscountry. We wish to remain faitliiul to the ideal to which he devoted his life. Let us remain united assuring tranquility and progress. Me are unshakable devoted to the dynasty, to the constitiiion and laws centring on Michel, our love and faith in the Nation’s destiny, believing a brilliant future is assured to Roumania which was never so great as to-day.
