Louisiana Smith, proprietor ol the Cave, a popular cafe in the city, is in the midst of celebration, when ■Joe and Pietro arrive before departing on another trip. A stranger, discovered to he a member of the Secret Service, is disgusted at the fuss made over Joe. As a revenge she lures him to accompany her to the docks where he is set upon hv members of the crew and taken aboard. On board .Joe tienon aces .ferry as a spy. and takes a keen delight in giving him menial jobs to humiliate him. Bootleg pirates at-' tack the Josephine, during which Jerry escapes to a bout which he lowers from the launch. Joe sees him and pursues. I Her enemy takes a shot at her. with the result that she falls over the rails, and lie is ioreeil to take her with him. | Ihe pirates are eoiU|Ueroil. and when i Pietro Jimls .Joe gone, he reports to Drake that his daughter is killed. The ' fugitives reach a deserted island, whore • Lie’s hatred for Jerry turns to love. Jerry points out the havoc she is
fronting with her nun-rumiin*' trade, mid she determines to give it up for Pietro discovers their wherea bouts ami inveigles them to hoard a laimi h. When they are at sea, lie puts •Jerry through unbearable tortures, hut •Joe barricades horse'll' in a cabin whore she sigh ts a Government cutter and signals an S.O.SL The marines receive her signal and head for the speed craft. •Jerry is strung up by his thumbs, and Pietro liglits a fuse, determined that the Josephine shall never lie taken by the Government vessel. A topical and comedy will also bo shown.
