A wedding of unusual interest, particularly to .South Westland people was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Ross, on Tuesday, July 19th, the contracting parties being Mr Amos Douglas, of Kara men, and Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr P. Nolan, of Okuru. Nuptial Mass was solemnised by the Rev. Father O’Doherty, of Ross. Mrs 1’ armor played the wedding march. '1 he bride who entered the cliim h oil the arm of her uncle, Mr M. Nolan looked charming in a frock of French crepe-tle-i bine with veil and coronet of orange Blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums, snowdrops and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid. Mi— Mary Dale (a cousin of tbe bride) wore a frock of apricot crepc-de-cliine with a crinoline hat and a bouquet to match her frock. Tlio bridegroom was attended by Mr J. Deiineliy as be-t man. After the oerionnlny a reception was -held at tlio residence of Mr and Mrs Nolan, only a, few close friends and relatives of tlio bride attending. A proof of the popularity of tbe bride and bridegroom was given in the sheaf of congratulatory messages received and in tbe. more tangible expression of a large number of handsome gifts among which were several substantial cheques. The couple left later on their hoiieynn on <m a. tour of the north. tbe bride travelling in a frock of saxe blue repp with i oat and lmt to match. PALMER—Y A GLANCE. I lie ceremony was conducted by the Rev T. X. Cuttle. The bride was attired in a smoked blue lepp ensemble suit, relieved with a fur necklet. The happy couple and their friends were later entertained at luncheon. and left afterwards for Otira, by motor, on route for Christchurch, -Marlborough and Nelson. A presentation was recently made to tbe couple at Rotomaiiu by the settlers of the Otira district. Mr and Airs 1L Palmer intend to reside ill Hokitika.

The wedding of Mr AA’illiani AA illiams to Miss Sarah Cressey. youngest daughter of Mr and Airs Thomas Crossev, took place a.t St. Patrick s Church, Oreymuuth. .yesterday. The Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Rev Father Hololmii. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brothel, wore a frock of cream satin, relieved with touches of radium lace, the orthodox veil, surmounted with a coronet of orange blossoms, and i allied a bouquet of autumn tints. Miss Gertie Cressey. who attended her cousin as bridesmaid, wore a frock of powder blue crepe de chine, with tulle Dutch cap. and carried a posy ol tints to tone. Mr F. Hepburn acted as best man. The wedding guests were entertained at the home of the bride’s parents, where the usual felicitous toasts were honoured. Mr and Mis AYilliams left by express for Christchurch and Dunedin, the bride travelling i„ an ensemble suit of vieux rose repp, with hat to match.
