AT GRF.YMOUTH. 11Y TEI.F.GKAI’H —PRESS ASSN'., COPYRIGHT. GREY MOUTH, July 20. The Canterbury farmers’ party arrived from Hokitika this morning and were welcomed by Mr J. Muleare (President West Coast Farmers’ Union)) and others. The visitors were taken to tiie hotels and billets. They spoke warmly of the hospitality already received. A civic reception was held later at the Town Hall. There was a large attendance and short addresses were given by the Mayor (Mr GreensVade), Messrs J. Muleare. Joseph McLean (Chairman of Chamber of Commerce). D. M. Robertson (Chairman of Progress League), J- P. Irvine (Grey County Council). The speakers stressed the mutual benefits obtainable by an exchange of visits and opinions between farmers east and west. Mr B. Withell (President. Mid-Canterbury Farmers’ Union), A. Horsey. I’. Shearer, and J. Carr replied. At the conclusion of the function the party left by motors lor Punakaiki. Tu the evening they will be entertained at a social under the auspices of the West Coast A, and P. Association. The weather is sunny but cold.
