FOUND DEAD.
The police were advised .this morning about noon that Archibald McArthur. a former well-known settler of Koiterangi and Kokataiii, who has been residing in North Revolt St. for some years past had been found dead in his hut. He was sitting in a chair with a rug over his head and a. gas tube, with tho gas turned on, in his hand—quite dead. Dr Teiehelmann was called in but pronounced that the man was dead perhaps for half an hour or more from gas poisoning. The body was removed to the morgue by the police and an inquest will be bold later. The deceased’s wife died some twelve months’ ago. He was horn in Glasgow, Scotland, and was 80 years of ago. He was a former director of tho Kokatahi Dairy Factory. Deceased had been in ill-health for a considerable time past, undergoing a painful operation some time back. He was seen only a .short time before by a neighbour. Two daughters (Mrs R. Mcharrv of Ha worn, and Mrs V. Wall, of Herono) and ail adopted soil.. Air Claude .McArthur, of Greymoiilh. are left.
