The Spanish airmen .Major Loriga, who recently flew from .Madrid to Phili'ippines, crashed when testing a small French for tv-horse-power plane and was killed.

They were welcomed with flags, music speeches and the customary liberal quantities of ticker tape and torn paper. There was not the same wild enthusiasm ns was evidenced when Lindenherg returned, but hundreds of thousands of people lined Broadway from the Battery to the City Hall and cheered the airmen heartily. A sudden heavy shower marred the civil ceremonies, sending crowds scurrying for shelter. . Notwithstanding this, the programme was carried out. Mayor Walker decorated the airmen who then proceeded to tho Eternal Light Memorial. where they deposited a wreath after which they reviewed the parade.
AIR TRAGEDY. (Received this day at 12.215 p.m.) PARIS, July 18. Lieut. Pnscaud, flying a military aeroplane, was forced to land on trie Rouleau Beach, which was crowded with bathers and children. The machine knocked down four girls of four and a-lialf years, who were killed instantly. A girl of ten had her arm torn off. was injured internally, aiql died in the hospital. Others were uninjured. The liorrer-striken crowd attempted to mob Pascand', who was rescued with difficulty.
