Miller started from San Francisco at 1 p.m. on May 31st, in his own “ Imperial SO ” Chrysler. 79 hours 55 minutes later he 40 MPH DAY & NIGHT FOR 7 DAYS reached New York, and then began the return journey to Los Angeles. He covered the total distance for the round trip of 6720 miles in a total elapsed time of 167 hours 59 minutes—almost a thousand miles a day for seven days ! “ I don’t believe there is another automobile in the world that could stand up for such a long, long time under the merciless gruelling this Chrysler has undergone,” said Mr. Miller.
