LEAVE ASHBURTON FOR COAST. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON', duty 18. The Farmers’ train for the West Coast carried 203 from this station, and others are to be picked up at Rakaia, from tbe Aietbven branch line. The travellers include Mr H. C. B. Withell (President of Mid-Canterbury Executive of the Pa rulers' Union;. Mr A. Horsey (County Chairman) and Air P. Shearer (President of the A. and L’. Association), also twenty or thirty ladies.

The local stationmastei; advised this afternoon that when leaving Springfield there were 321 of the Fanners Party aboard the, special train, including 41 ladies.

TO-MORROW'S PROGRAAIMK. The itinerary of the visiting Canterbury Farmers is as follows:—Arrive at Hokitika at 5.15 to-niglit. Introduction of executive at the station. The visitors will then proceed to their respective hotels and have the evening free to themselves.

Return immediately to Kokatahi Hall, where morning tea, will he served and the official welcome he given by the executive, and various speakers. Air T. O’Neill will he in charge of the function. Leave Kokatahi at 12 o’clock for Hokitika, where lunch will he partaken. I/Cave Hokitika at 2 o'clock for Lake Kauieri and at 3 o'clock the party will leave the Lake for the Kauieri Dredge. The visitors, whose numbers will he too great, will not have time to hoard the dredge, hut an inspection from the shore will bo of general interest. Children and all others interested will he allowed to enter the demonstration ear attached to the Fanners’ Train all day on Tuesday where the lecturers in charge will give appropriate demons tra Hons.
