Louis .Mayer, and the attorneys, Louis Levy and Hubert Rubin, also are sued. Duel I alleges conspiracy to deprive him of Lillian Gish’s screen services and to ruin him financially and professionally. as a result of which, lie claims, he has suffered .1.000.000 dollars’ worth of actual damages. In addition. Duel! asks for 2.000,000 dollars as punitive damages. Plaintiff said: ‘‘The complaint .speaks for itself of three years' corruption and hyproerisy, which I will expose. “The consequences will he the most far-reaching the film industry has ever faced. The outcome will shock the country and will reach every selfrespecting limne in the land.” The complaint states that in .Tannary. 1024. Duell divorced his wife and Lillian Gish became engaged to marry him. Through his promotion of her and iii.s direction and advice. Lillian became one of the most famous of all screen attractions.
