EVERYBOBYS’ PICTURES " I'llE GRAND DUCHESS AND THE WAITER ’’-TO-NIGHT. Six hundred :md eighty-seven individuals appeared before tlie camera for Malcolm St. Clair's latest Paramount Picture, “ The Grand Duchess and the Waiter.” Of this number two were

featured players, six were supporting players, twelve were hit players, and six hundred and sixty-seven were used for 11 atmosphere.” The two leading roles are superbly portrayed by Adolphe Menjoti and Florence Vidor, while the supporting cast includes Lawrence Grunt. Andre de Reranger, Dot Farley, Barbara Pierce. Brandon Hurst, and' William Courtright. Among the hit players are two ladies-in-waiting, one mililonaire. one theatre manager, one footman, one chauffeur, one doorman, one taxi-driver, one floor-waiter, one housemaid and two peasants. The (1(17 “extras” includes 500 people for a theatre audience. 100 people for outside the theatre, six cab drivers, 2d hotel guests, (i park loungers, and .‘lO persons for the interior of an inn. ‘‘The Grand Duchess and the Waiter, was adapted to the screen by Pierre Codings from the famous French play by Alfred Savoir. It deals with the comedy complications that result when an adventurous French philanderer masquerades a sa waiter to he near a lovely hut snobbish Duchess, with whom he falls desperately in love. The entire production has boon lavishly mounted, so that it is as beautiful as it is entertaining. The supports to-night are n topical, scenic and comedy. On Friday next Laura La Pi'ante is starred in a big Universal special. “ Her Big Night.”
