Various Ministers nominated select committees for the current session on Kriday, and in view of last session and
subsequent happenings, some significance is attached to the proposed personnel of the Industries and Commerce Committee. The chairman of that committee last session was Mr A. Harris (Waitemata). This year his name has been omitted from the committee altogether, an action on the part of the Government that has aroused some comment in the lobbies, where it is interpreted as evidence of the Reform I'arty’s intention to drop the member for Waitemata. Thu. lobbies have it also, that developments may he expected when the committees are appointed on Tuesday afternoon.
