Tsiagtao crisis is reported to have ended, Chenghsiii being routed by iSpnchuarifaug, who is operating with Changeliungcliaiig and Shantung militarists. Railway communication between Tsiagtao and inland cities is restored, principally owing to patrolling by Japanese troops. Meantime the main Shantung Army is locked in rumbat with the vanguard of Cantonese in the vicinity of Linohong. Tt is claimed Southerners have been repulsed.

A conference is in progress between garrison commanders of five foreign powers regarding the defence of Tientsin.
