VISIT TO LONDON. (Australis il A X.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 1. Seldom .has London entertained a more jovial monarch than King Fund of Egypt. Immediately after his reception at the Palace, he set out on a series of visits. Everywhere he went, crowds collected, and King Fuad waved gaily to all and sundry. Even the scarlet guardsmen at the l’alaee gates were greeted with a jolly wave of the hand.

He visited various Royalties. Brilliant ceremonial marked the State banquet for him at Buckingham Palace. One hundred guests were present, and the historic gold plate was used. Yeomen of tlie Guard .stand around the ruble in glowing uniforms, making, together with the lull dress liveries of the servants in the background, a gorgeous scene of colour. Queen Mary tvore a diamond tiara, and also, for the first time, the Order of El Kemal. which King Fuad conferred upon her. King George was in an Admiral's uniform.

One toast was honoured, that of King Fuad, which was proposed by King George, who emphasised the close .sympathetic interest with which he followed Egypt’s progress. His Majesty hoped friendly Anglo-Egvptian relations would continue, with advantage to both, ensuring peace and prosperity King Fuad's visit would afford llis Majesty a fresh proof of Britain’s sympathy and goodwill. King Fuad, responding, said: “l recognise the- important park Britain has played in Egyptian progress, f 1 hope that in a new, happy era. independence and friendship will be consolidated. Egyptians attach the bighe.sl value to Britain’s friendship, and the Government has made every effort to render the friendship more intimate and fruitful.” King George created Sawat Paslia, ihe Egyptian Premier, a K.C.M.G.
