Criticism of the decision of the Amateur Athletic Council in appointing four selectors living in the North Island to choose the Dominion team for the Australian and New Zealand championships was made by the Otago. Wanganui and Canterbury Centres at a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to-night. It was decided to appoint a tilth selector, and all centres are requested to forward nominations to the council. ENGLISH CHAMPIONSHIPS. j LONDON.- July 4. At the Amateur Championships. Prensson Club team (Houben. Schuller. Salz. and Werusing) won the quar-ter-mile relay rate, defeating the Achilles Club team, flintier. Rinltcl. Bagnail. and Onkley-Lowct in 42 1-5 seconds. The hop. step, and jump was won by W. Peters (Holland) with 609 inches, a British record. The javelin throw was won by Szopes (Hungary) with 25511 inches, a British record. .
The ten mile race was won by Harrier in 3141 1-5 seconds, he retaining the championship.
