HOUSE OF LORDS.
(Australian A- N.Z. Cable Association.)
TRADE UNION 811-L. London. July i
The House of Lords spent the day discussing the Trades l niou Bill. Loid I’armool* generally condemned the Bill. Lord Beading then described the Bill as a serious mistake in policy. It was strange that, the Ministry had not thought of getting the parties together to promote goodwill instead. Such a course would have provided a better method of settling disputes, lhc Bill, he said, created new offences, and new penalties and sanctions. ft was not lair to say that it prohibited sympathy strikes, hut it was easily Seen that it was partisan, punitive and retributive. Tho debate was adjourned.
