jami’.s .McCarthy. The wedding look place yesterday at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymoutli, of Mi ss Nell McCarthy, only daughter of Mr and Mrs P. J. McCarthy of ’Greymouth, to Mr Bigby .Tames, eldest suit of Mr and Mrs H. I). James, of Karoro, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Father Long. The bride, who was given away hy her father, chose a French mode! frock of ivory crepe do; chene with embroideries of silver heading outlining a bolero Ixalice and scalloped hem. Her tulle veil was worn as a Russian coronet and was daintily embroidered in palest pink and ivory. White satin shoes headed in silver and a shower bouquet of maidenhair fern and chrysanthemums in shades of pink and white completed a charming toilette. 'The bridesmaid, Miss Alice Doognu. wore a picture frock of turquoise blue taffeta, with gold lace, the bodice being finely pin-tucked. A Dutch cap of gold lace and gold shoes were also worn with a bouquet of gold and cream chrysanthemums. Mr Charlie James attended his brother as best man. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was hold at the residence of Mr and Mrs McCarthy, the bride’s mother being attired in navy blue crepe de chene with .scalloped vest of I’aun, navy lint and coat of vieux rose cloth. A Tin If. D. James wore a tailored suit of henna, cheeked kasha and hat of figured velvet. AL YIC'A R —THORXTOX. Tlio wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick's Churcli, Gieynioiith, yesterday when Aliss Bridget Xnrali, second daughter oi Afr.s AL A. Thornton, of Grey mouth, was married to Air T.oftus Me Vicar, fourth son of Airs MeYiear, Blackwater. The Hoc. Father Ifolohan performed the nuptials in the presence of a large attendance of guests a - friends.
The bride, who was given away bv her brother, Air .T. Thornton, looked charming in a saxc blue repp costume with trimmings of embossed georgette and lace and a grey felt bat with blue trimmings. She carried a posy of autumn tints. The bridesmaid, Afiss A Ton a Ruane, cousin of the bride, was smartly attired in a beige charmeline jumper suit and hat to match. She also carried a posy. The bridegroom was supported by Afr Ramsay Reid as best man. As the happy couple left the Church the Wedding A larch was played by Air T. Crankshnw and the bride was presented with a lucky horse shoe.
