ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE
At. tin- above yards yesterday an extra large yarding of 7-7 bead of cattle and 60 sheep were penned for the sale a.t which there was the usual attendance of buyers. The quality of the yarding was excellent, notwithstanding the weather conditions which were extremely wintry and mitigated against the general appearance ol tDestock . The top price for the sale was made by Mr N. Friend with throe nicely finished llerelord bullocks which brought £ll 2s Gd. This was closely followed tli,v £1 I for a single Hereford of Mr D. Dicilriclis. Extra prime hoof made .'!-1s to 87s Gd. heavy weight, cattle 82s Gd to 86s, lighter sorts 80s to 82s Gd. Prime, heifer beef 80s to 88s ami cow beef ranged .from 25s to 80s per bundled. An extra prime pen of half-bred wethers made to 89s. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold as in)lows : - On account of Mr X. .M. HOUSTON AND CO.'S REPORT. I here was a heavy yarding of cattle and sheep at the usual fortnightly sab* at the above yards yesterday, outentry consisting o| 120 sheep and lambs and 30 fat cattle. The usual buyers were present and competition was keen at prices in a par with those of the previous sale. Best ox beef realised from 32s to 35s per hundred, good heifer 30s and c :w beef from 2ts to 28s per hundred. Fat sheep also realised satisactory prices. We sold as follows: On account of Mr T. Staines 28 fat sheep at 28s. 69 fat lambs at 21s; on account of F. G. Williams and Sons 24 fat sheep at 30s; on account of Mr John Adamson 2 boilers at £B. 1 cow at £7 IBs. 3 liefers at £7 7s 6d. I runner at £6 2s Od. I. heifer at £7 15s. 3 bullocks at £9 7s Oil, 1 runner at £6 15s, 2 bullocks at £8 ss, 3 at £lO. 1 runner at £0 15s, 2 bullocks at £lO 2s Od, 2 heifers at £B, 1 runner at £5 10s. (privately) 35 fat bullocks at £l2: on account of Air James Donovan 2 bullocks at £S 12s Od. 3 voalers at £4. I at £4. 1 at £4.
