IU'GISY LEAGUE. SYDNEY, June 28. At a meeting of the New South Wales Rugby League communication was received from the New Zealand lieague that the Dominion was willing to support New South Yales and Queensland so that the English Clubs should be defeated in their efforts to secure players from Australia and New Zealand. Sunderland (Secretary of the Queensland League) said: Since the arrival of the Queensland team, the Sydney representatives of the English Clubs had negotiated with players offering them inducement to sign an agreement with Clubs in Britain. One player had named £BOO which was thought a. prohibitive figure, but it was accepted. player decided, to remain in Australia. Sunderland felt Australian Clubs most offer something in an international way to players. He suggested that teams should be sent to England every four years. The matter was referred to the Board of Control.
