WELLINGTON. June 23. The opening of Parliament took plnce with the usual ceremonies. After the Coveriior-General’s speech had been delivered the House met. Sir George Hunter gave notice to introduce the Gaming Amendment Bill. Mr Sidev indicated that be would introduce the Summer Time Bill.
Mr Parry to-day gave notice to ask whether Old Age Pensions will he increased to at least 25s per week. M r E. J. Howard similarly moved to ask whether the Family Allowances Act will l>e amended to provide for women who have heen deserted hy their husbands, and who have to maintain families.
Mr H. E. Holland gave notice to move a No-Confidence amendment to the Address-in-Replv. The House adjourned at 3.12 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. next day.
