WEST ( OAST RUGBY UNION. The usual weekly meeting of the above Executive was bold nt Oreymollth last evening. An application was received from the Railway Football Club fer permission to travel to Christchurch oil JuiV 2nd. together with the personnel of the team, and advising Air Payne would accompany the team as manager. It was resolved to give the necessary permission, and to advise the Canterbury Rugby Union accordingly.

Advice was received from the New Zealand Union re tlie intended tour of tlie .Maori team of the minor Unions in both the North and .South Islands, stating they would play a match at Greymouth on Saturday, August 6th. The letter intimated that tho team would consist of 22 players and a manager, Air A. Takarangi accompanying the team through the North Island, and Air Kingi Talinwi through the South Island.

A ruling was asked for by the Westland Sub-Union re a referee stopping tlie recent Ross v. Exeei’sior junior match four minutes before time on acenuiiL of failing light. It was resolved to draw tlie Sub-Union’s attention to the “Amendments of Rtti’es for 1927 Season,” just issued by the New Zealand Union, which states on this subject that "The referee lias power to stop the game before time lias expired, if. in lii.s opinion, the full time cannot bo played.”
