I.OXDOX. Juno -1. Sir Hrnncker. a guest of the Colonial Institute at luncheon, emphasising the increasing safety of aviation. mentioned that since 1919 there had I teen only been four fatalities on the regular British air routes. Since Christmas, 1921. they had covered twenty-one hundred thousand miles without scratching a passenger. He said: ‘‘lf you consider French railways and London streets I think you will agree that aviation comes out well iu comparison.” He drew attention to Persia's objections to British aircraft flying in the Persian Gulf, holding up tho extension of the Cniro-Basra service to India.
