WESTLAND SUB-UNION.
AIONDAY, JUNE 20th
The Sub-Union met at 8 p.m. Present :—Messrs F. AlcGregor (Chairman), Stafford. Moore. AlcDonald, Dowell, and Heenau.
A deputation from Kokatahi Club waited on tho meeting asking for a. neutral referee in their coining match with R oss at Ross.—Received. From School Football Committee asking for an 8-stone competition to be inaugurated.—Received and agreed to, sole charge to be vested in the Schools Football Committee, and a suitable trophy to be provided. Report of Referee Williamson on Knnieri-Alagpio match was received.
From T. A. Fletcher, Wellington, submitting full report on off-side rule. —Received; to be printed. From A. Sutherland, Ross, referee's report on Saturday’s match, Ross v. Excelsior; also letter from Excelsior Club and deputation.—Received. The refereec had declared the game finished owing to darkness four minutes before time with tho leading team the winners. It was resolved to refer tho power of the referee to do so to tho W.C.R.U. for a ruling. From Excelsior Club asking permission to arrange a match, Excelsior Thirds v. United Fourths.—Received and request granted. It was resolved that-the writer of a letter complaining against the nonaction of the Union in .connection with the appointment of a referee he asked to attend next Union meeting. Accounts as presented were passed for payment. A request by Kanieri juniors to be allowed to disband was agreed to, but all players must, make application for permission before playing for any other Club. °

RUGBY LEAGUE. (Australian A N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, June 19. The Rugby League 'Annual Conference at Bridlington, dealt with a cable from New South Wales, Queensland and New Zealand Leaguers, suggesting tho decision to remove biennium residential qualification for Dominionites bo uon-oporativo pending a conference in 1928, with tho Alanagcr of the Engjish team going to Australia. Tho League. however, instructed the Secretary to reply, stating the agreement had been terminated by votes of Clubs at the annual meeting. Therefore it must be considered terminated from IStli. June.
