CHRISTCHURCH, June 17. An inquest on the murdered woman, Gwendoline Scarff, was opened to-day, but only evidence of identification "as taken, and the inquest was adjourned. It is said that the contents of the suit-cases give no information of any value.
The girl ordinarily carried a hand--I,mg and a purse, in which she kept correspondence and snapshots, hut both the handbag and the purse are missing.
The police have investigated the story of man in pyjama trousers being seen at North Brighton on the day of the murder. The police are satisfied that man had nothing to do with it. Hiere have been no developments today.
