ELINOR GLYN’S NOVEL TO-NIGHT

Klinor Glyn’s great novel ‘'Soul .Mates,” will be presented at the Prin-ce.-.s theatre to-night. Elinor Glyn herself says there are none she would sooner have enact the leading roles in the screen version of her novels than Aileon Pringle and Edmund Lowe. 1 hey are her ideal lovers. It is in such alluring exotic roles that .Miss Pringle is seen at her magnilient best. Her vivid dark beauty and ability to rivet tbe fans’ attention have won her thousands ol followers right here in the Southern Hemisphere. In no picture is she so fascinating, so enchanting as in these screen adaptations of Elinor Glyn’s novels. A highly developed dramatic sense, and a keen realisation that touches of humour will effectively illuminate tense scenes, enable her to make her portrayal in

“ Soul Mates ” so memorable. Both she and Lowe are particularly impressive. A distinct and convincing English atmosphere permeates the production, tor which those two principals are largely responsible. There is nothing unconvincing, nothing unreal in their work. Edmund Lowe is one ol the outstanding leading players ol the industry. Many feminine hearts have fluttered through his pictures, lie is undeniably one of tbe greatest players in romantic roles, and here gives a performance that surpasses anything be lias ever done. His manliness makes him as popular with tbe men as with the ladies. The supporting east is powerful—all names that mean something, and with sterling performances to hack them up. Screen Snapshots and a good comedy will also be shown to-night.
