Cross-examined, Margaret -Moire. Robinson's typist, was unable definitely to identify the duster found in the trunk as that used in the office, but it was similar. Official quarters replying to comments says a large number of Soviet Russians were allowed to remain in London, and point out those included in the list after the the Aroos raid had already left. Others arc only in permissive residence, subject to periodic review.

EMPIRE SERVICE LEAGUE. LONDON, .June 8. Dyett was appointed Chairman of the Empire Service League Conference. LABOR DECISION. LONDON, June 7. The British Co-operative Societies’ Congress being held at Cheltenham, has by 1900 votes to 18J votes approved of its affiliation with the Labour Party.

Tho opposition to affiliation was based on a belief that polities would introduce strife and bitterness into the Co-operative movement. The advocates of affiliation emphasised that an agreement between the respective Executives was reached on the initiative of the Co-operators. They Stated that Labour and the Co-opera-tors alike aimed at common ownership, while the Tories and the Liberals aimed at the present ownership, and exploitation of the land, capital, transport and hanking.
