The South African Government delegate denounced the attitude of the Labour Office in pushing for the adoption of measures regardless of the subsequent cost to the memliers. He cited an instance in 1925 of the Labour Office requesting the collection of statistics as to the cost of sickness insurance in various countries for the information of the present conference, though the Directors’ new report now contained a passage expressing the opinion that no good purpose would be served bv the collection of such statistics.
