SOVIET REQUEST. LONDON, Alay 39
Al. Rosengoltz (Soviet representative) has written to Sir Austen Chamberlain, asking permission for the Soviet Directors of the Arcos British Companies that are conducting AngloRu.ssian trade, also departmental managers and necessary staff, to remain in England to liquidate their business, or otherwise nil immediate liquidation will he ordered, when the responsibility for all the damages suffered by the Soviet Institutions and citizens and the British citizens, as the result of such speedy liquidation, will rest on the British Government. BERLIN, Alay 30. Aleinbers of the Arcos Coy have applied for German visas, with a view to winding up their British business from Berlin. This probably will he granted, provided that the numbers are limited, and that- they do not remain in Germany for a lengthy period, since there are one thousand representatives of an organisation corresponding to Arcos already operating in Berlin, and this number is considered enough.
