The death occurred at the O’Connor Home. AA'estport, on Saturday, of Air John Collins, aged 93 years. Deceased was horn in County Cork, and came to Greymoutli in 1865, and-later was engaged in gold mining at Nelson Creek and Alaori Creek. He was single, and had no living relatives.

An Auckland wire records the death of Alauricc Dickinson, aged 21, the champion breaststroke swimmer ot Auckland. He died on Saturday after a. short illness. Dickinson was a prominent swimmer for some years, and besides competing successfully in the last Dominion championships, lie was a member of the Auckland team which visited Dunedin a couple of years ago. Saturday night was a very stormy one. There was a heavy northerly gale blowing all night, but the rain was not very heavy only .67 inches falling. The weather cleared somewhat yesterday, the gale dropping, and tollin' broke line. In the northern part of the Coast the weather was much rougher, an electrical storm being experienced, together with heavy hail showers.

Charles Edward Larsen, a wellknown plumber of Greymoutli, was found dead on Saturday in his workshop AVerita Street. Deceased was missing from about 3 p.m. Shortly alter 8 o’clock Afr George AlcGirrwcnt to look for him at the premises in AVerita Street. On entering the workshop he found the place full of gas, and saw a tube leading to a tank which had been turned upside down. On lifting the tank on one side, lie found the hoilv of deceased, with gas issuing from the tube. Deceased had carried on his business as a plumber tor many years in Greymoutli where he was well known and much respected. lie leaves a widow and six children, the youngest being about three years old, and the eldest 18 years of age. Deceased, who was 47 years of age. and was a native of AA'estport. leaves a mother, who resides in AA’estport, and two brothers, .Messrs Lawrence Larsen (Engineer of the AA’estport Harbour AVorks) and Fred Larsen (who is at present on a visit to Sydney), also one sister. Airs Nelson, of Wellington. Deceased, whose health had been such of late as to necessitate an operation, was in his earlier years a fine athlete, winning many cycle trophies, and lie was very well esteemed by nil who knew lnm.
