DRUIDS LODGE

Tho half yearly meeting of Westland JLodgo No. 89, U.A.O.D was held in lie lodge room on Thursday evening when a fair attendance was presided over by A.D. Bro. Ferguson, before proceeding with the usual business of the evening a veto of sympathy and condolence with the relations and friends of a Into brother ttlso with a brother on the loss of his father were curried in silence, till members standing.

The minutes of the previous meeting were rend and eonlirenid, outward correspondence rend and approved, inward read and received. Hards reported sick members doing well with one exception. Sick pay to the amount of £lO Os was passed for payment. A ballot was taken for two new mem hers who proved successful in both cases. The ordinary business was then suspended for the purpose of initiation, when one candidate was initiated into tho “Kites of Druidism” hy A.D. Hro. Ferguson assisted hy his officers. It being nomination and election night the following officers were elected:—A.D.. Hro. R. Furness; V.A.. "Bro. T. Brown ; Secretary, Hro. .1. Fox P.D.P.; Treasurer, Hro. F. Hallinger, P.A.; Minute Secretary, Hro. I?. Ferguson, jnr.; A.D. Hds., Hros. Lock and Noble; V.A, Hds., Hros. Hell, and Pierson; J.P-.A., Hro. R. Ferguson, senr. Accounts, doctor and chemist £OO 9s *bd, salaries £8 11s were passed for payment. One new member was proposed and one clearance was granted. Invitations were received trom tho various lodges in No. 13 District to attend the installation ceremony. A hearty vote of thanks was recorded to the Hibernian Society for the splendid time spent in St. Mary’s Club rooms on the evening of the 19th. This being all the business the meeting closed in harmony.
