Messrs Newmans Motors Ltd. will run special ears on Friday evening to Ivuniara Ball in the Memorial Hall.
For months past the starting bell at Hokitika railway station lias been cracked, but. there was no sign of it being renewed by the Department. Ah AY. Newman, of Newmans Abhors Ltd. lias now kindly donated a loud sound ing gong to replace the cracked bob and the stationniaster desires to nek non-ledge the gift with thanks.
Minor burglaries were resumed at Greymouth after a lull of a fortnight. The Railway good sheds were entered on Tuesday night, the nightwatelunan scaring off the intruder. Last night Schaef’s furniture shop was entered and several carpets taken valued at !£75.
