LATE LOCALS.

The death of Mr Thomas Brown, an old and highly esteemed resident of Blue Spur over a long period of years took place this morning at hi.s residence. The deceased was a native of Stiulhully. Ireland, and 90 years of age. He came to New Zealand 57 years ago. and had been a resident of Blue Spur since the rush to that township, following mining pursuits until lie retired from active work. His wife p red ceased him many years ago. A grown-up family are left of two daughters (Mrs 'Warwick, of Runanga, and Miss Clara Brown). and four sons, Edward, Thomas and Henry, all resident in the district, and M'illiam at "Westport),. The district lias lost a fine stamp of the early pioneer, and there will he general regret at his passing.
