The Economic Conference Committee adopted a formulae concerning industrial agreements, declaring that while refraining from interfering in political questions, the Conference recognising importance of renewal of world trade as regards participation of all States present, irrespectively of the economic system as a happy augury for future co-operation of nations. Russians accepted the formulae but voted against reports of the Commerce, Industries and Agricultural Committees, causing much comment and annoyance, as the Soviet's representatives allegedly promised to abstain from voting if they disagreed, enabling the Conference to lie unanimous. It is lielieved Russians are waiting the fate of their motion, preclaiming co-existence of capitalism (cabled <m 20th May) before deciding what attitude they will take up on the final recommendations of the Conference.
