RESULTS OF SEARCH. LONDON. May 19,
The Home Secretary (Sir William .loynson Hicks) makes a statement in the House of Commons to-day regardng the raid on the Areos buildings. It is awaited with the keenest interest. It is understood that Sir IV. Joynson Hicks will place before the Cabinet a full report of the results of the search, and that it will then be decided how much cair be disclosed. It is the view of well informed quarters, says the Daily Telegraph Parliamentary correspondent, that the discoveries are of sufficient importance to justify the raid. There is a strong feeling in Ministerial circles that the Soviet Note is insulting and that the allegations made against the l police are absolutely untrue. Politicians v 1 o hitherto have been reluctant to break the British relations with Russia now express the opinion that the Trade Agreement with Russia must be ahro-j gated.

The Daily 'Telegraph’s diplomatic correspondent points out there is the Russian threat to divert contracts and purchases from Britain to other co :n----tries He says this is a two-edged weapon, since it means not only tlie impossibiity of Soviet Russia securing direct British credits, hut it means also a refusal on the part of Britivi financial houses to discount or rediscount hills relating to any large scale trade and credit operations bev.veen Soviet Russia and any third parti's, such as Germany LONDON, May 19.
The Daily Telegraph's Diplomatic correspondent points out that there are singular statements emanating from Berlin, where it is rumoured that the Soviet was on the verge cf concluding a twenty million sterling credit with several London hanks, including the Midland Bank, in addition to the ten millions of credit previously stated to have Veen arranged.
GERMAN SUSPICIONS. LONDON, May 19
The Daily Telegraph’s Diplomatic correspondent says:—There is also speculation on the Continent regarding the contents of the missing document which was the original cause of the raid on the Areos biulding. Berlin is asking—Did the'document contain a plan for the passage of British and French troops through Germany in the event of war with Russia? Or did the document contain a defensive plan against a French air attack on Britain?
SOVIET AFFAIR'S. 'Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, May 19. A large scale campaign aiming (it the diplomatic and economic isolation of the Soviet has commenced according to the “Gazette.” This is the international aspect of the Areos raid, which was purposely timed for M. Doiimerge’s visit on the Communist question. -Britain has definitely assumed the European leadership and other countries prepared to follow her example first and foremost is applicable to France. The results of the raid are expected to profoundly affect France’s attitude towards the Soviet.
