DEATH OF MR. H. A. THOMPSON
It is with very deep regret Hint we record the death of Henry A. Thompson, the well-known monumental mason and undertaker, of Gibson Quay, which took place about 1 o’clock this afternoon. Air 'Thompson had been in failing health for some time past, hut it was barely throe weeks since his illness took an acute form, the end coming very rapidly at the finish, though it had been known his condition was very serious for some days. The deceased was the second soil of Air and Airs W. A. Thompson, of Weld Street, and was a native of Hokitika and about 33 years of age. He was a very popular citizen taking part in many of the civic duties, and there will he a very deep feeling of regret at his .sudden passing.
The deceased was Deputy-Superin-tendent of the Hokitika Fire Brigade, and had been a member for over 25 years. He was President of the Hokitika Bowling Club, and one of its most popular members, and a player of undoubted merit. Me was also a member of the Kilwinning Lodge of Freemasons, anil a postmaster, while he served as a member of the HokitikaBorough Council for several years.
Deceased leaves a widow and family of two sons (Arnold and Henry), and four daughters (Phyllis, Nellie, May and Florence), father and mother (who lost another son, Frank only about a year ago) and two sisters (Mrs J. B. Ward and Miss Florence Thompson). To the bereaved will be extended the deepest sympathy of the community in their verv sad loss.
