DE PINEDO’S FLIGHT.
OTTAWA, May 17
Marchese de Pinedo lias arrived at Montreal, making a safe landing in Montreal harbour. The Italian airman was greeted by tremendous throngs of Fascists. Ho expressed his gratification at seeing so many Black Shirts on hand. Marchese de Pinedo was also officially" welcomed by Signor Roncarelli, the Italian Consul at Montreal, and the Head of the Canadian Fascists. He was the guest of honour at a banquet given by the local Italian Colony, and lie was presented with a model of the “Santa Maria,” Christopher Columbus’ ship, to which aeroplane wfligs had been added. Do Pinedo’s next scheduled landing, will be at Trespass Bay, in Newfoundland.
SOVIET DENOUNCEO
NEW YORK, May 17. Mr Green. President of the American Federation of Labour, lias issued a statement to the effect that, especially following on conferences held with M. Kerensky (of Russia), the Amori-_ can Federation of Labour Executive is strengthened in its determination to oppose the recognition of the Soviet Government by America until the Russian Rod International disavows its. purpose to promote a world revolution., and to destroy the American Federation of Labour, and until a free, democratic Government, recognising its obligations to its own people, and a proper relationship to other nations is established in Russia. Mr Green’s statement continues that the Russian Trades Unions are dominated- and controlled by the Soviet Government, and that Government is the Communist Party. The American Trades Unions, he says, seek freedom, and not industrial nor political damnation. Ho adds that political liberty and industrial freedom are known bv name only in Russia.

Advices from Mexico City state the Federal troops report a battle with retreating reliels, leaving forty-two rebels dcarl, the enemy carrying hundreds of wounded. The chase covered four days. The enemy were led by three insurgent priests.
