There was again perfect weather on Saturday for the various football iixtures, and a good attendance of spectators. UNITEDS V. KANIERI. On Cass Square the senior game United (Grey) v. Kanieri presented an attractive exhibition that was close and exciting np to the call of time. The game was fast and open, and both sides showed good form. Kanieri attacked from the kick off, and United were forced down several times in quick succession, hard kicking losing any possible opportunity. The first half was mostly in favour of Kanieri, but they only scored one try, R. Moynihan getting over front a loose rush, while a couple of free kicks within easy range were not taken advantage

of. Early in the second spell, Unitods ran up eight points, P. Jamieson kicking a penalty goal and M. Jamieson making a fine run half the length of the field to score under the post, .Jenkins adding the extra points. Shortly after as the result of a Kanieri back to handle cleanly, M. Jamieson again got away to score under the posts and Jenkins again converted, making the tally 13 to 3. Kanieri then attacked strongly and held the upper hand to the finish of the game, Pfaldert scor-

Mr E. W. Hbennn was referee. STARS Y. MAGPIES. Played at Greymouth, this game resulted in a win for Stars by Id to 11. The teams were well matched in the first half, but Stars combined better in the later stages. For Magpies Ferguson (2) and Mayo scored tries, Birss converting one. For Stars Russell. Fell (2) and Brown scored tries. Stevens converting two.

JUNIOR GAMES

In the Excelsior A. and B. match there was heavy scoring, the A team showing to good advantage, and they ran up a score of 26 points to 11 points. In the Kanieri II v. Ross game. Kanieri went on the held short handed. Ro--s played with good combination and easily held their opponents, winning by 13 points to nil.

THIRD GRADE. The School team travelled to Rimu and had a runaway victory, showing combination that their opponents could not break. School won by 35 to 3.
