Q Announcing a New Cigarette--reS us ecig sy & eA£ OJO \fi[Z P-° Cot o®~i ■\TW rfiGbS VIRCI M ! AN You have probably tried all sorts of Cigarettes in your time, so you know pretty well by now that there is an indefinable something that most of them lack. Look for that something in “CHESS.” It is there, and why, because “CHESS” Cigarettes start life by being made by Experts, who have made a special study of Smokers’ tastes. Nothing was left to chance with “CHESS”; the Tobacco, which is really the thing that matters most, is the Finest Matured Virginia, and it is that Tobacco which makes all the difference. Then every Cigarette in the packet is well filled, but it draws freely. There is a Cork Tip; none of that paper sticking to your lips. The packets are individually wrapped, and what is more, every 20 packets make their voyage from England in a little hermetically sealed Tin Box all to themselves. Again, therefore, in the protection of this perfectly made Cigarette against climatic changes, nothing is left to chance. Try a packet of “CHESS” Cigarettes to-day—they have just arrived. A stout lady entered the smoker of mi Auckland tram the other evening. As it happened there was only one passenger when she got in. a working man in the full enjoyment of his pipe. Shuddering with disgust the lady remarked "My good man. smoking always makes me feel ill.”. “Do it now, Mum.'' repled the worker, puffing away, “then you take my tip and knock it orf.” The conductor laughed. But really the smell of some of those American tobaccos would make anyone “feel ill.” The excess of nicotine they always contain is had for the smoker, too. The safest tobaccos are our own X.X. grown. They contain so little nicotine that they may lie smoked pipeful after pipeful, and they won’t let you down. Full of fragrance and flavour too Delicious. They owe their fine quality largely to the fact that they are toasted in the course of manufacture. A novel idea! Ask for “Riverhend Gold"’ mild, “Toasted Xavv Cut” (Bulldog) medium, or “Cut Plug Xo. 10” (Bulkhead)' a grand full flavoured kind.— Advt.
