[Australian & X.Z. Cablo Association.] CHIME V. SNELL. NEW YORK, May 10. The fight at Los Angeles, in which “Doe” Snell, of Tacoma, who is a druggist, secured a ten-round decision against Billy Grime, proved one of the greatest fights ever witnessed in the Olympic Auditorium. It took place on Tuesday night. Snell won with a terrific two-fisted attack. He had Grime on the canvas four times in the early stages. The first three rounds were splendid and Billy Grime won many followers in his initial effort in the American ring. Snell went for Grime from the hell in his usual dynamic style, and lie socked the AustraHau To the floor with n right punch to the chin. Grime, how-

ever, bounced to his feet' without taking any count. The second round was an even one in the first part, hut Snell got Grime again, knocking him down for the second time. Grime then stumbled to his feet, only to go down again and the bell saved him. Snell then scored his fourth knock down in the third round, hooking Grime at the gong. After the third round, the Australian started corning hack in a sensational manner. The fourth round wa.s an even one, but Grime gave Snell more than he took from him during the next three rounds by a narrow margin. The eight round was another even one. and Snell, who had been missing, finished strongly. Snell in the ninth and tenth rounds secured a slight margin of points and thus won the fight.
