A DOG’S SAGACITY. DUNEDIN, May 11. A remarkable story of the sagacity that- is sometimes shown by animals is related by the owner of a Pomeranian dog, the circumstances being associated with the disappearance of a woman from her home in the Roslvn district towards the end of last month. From the time that the woman was reported missing the dog made many visits between the house and the piece of bush on the south side of Roslvn where the woman’s body was ultimately found by the owner of file animal. The dog appeared to be always uneasy when any member of the household went into the garden. The animal would run to the .base of the hill closo to the hush and would squat there for a time and wag its tail, but it did not make any sound. The dog’s actions were thought to be strange, but no particular attention was paid to them. On the day the woman’s body was found the bead of the household required a piece of timber, and, accompanied by the dog, lie set out for the bush, and the animal raced towards the bush and back again repeatedly. The owner watched the dog closely and following it into the hush, discovered the body of the unfortunate woman. In its actions previously the dog bad apparently had the object of trying to attract someone to follow it and see what' it bad found.
