LATE SHIPPING

[by TKreon.vpn—PEß PRESS ASSOCIATION.] GREYAIOUTH. Afav 13. Sailed—At, 1 10,30 a.m, Regulus for Nelson,

Four days before the decision (to abolish price-fixing) was made, the New Zealand Dairy ITiduco Importers' Association, members of which are agents of the Hoard, wrote to the Board drawing attention to the position of the market, expressing the opinion that this was to a large extent due to loss of goodwill, anil urgently recommending that “immediate steps should he taken to do away with the fundamental causes which have brought about the pf-sfiti position.” Tin's communication was published in the New Zealand Press when the Hoard reversed its polity. What is apparently new is that these agent's bad previously written to the Board expressing concern about the outlook in respect to advances, and threatening to reduce these, and that advances were subsequently reduced, and would bare been reduced still further had not price-fixing been abandoned. These agents considered that they ran the risk of loss, and naturally protected themselves. Thai is to say. while it is true opposition existed in the trade, the Board was not the victim of a nefarious plot, as has been vehemently alleged bv some supporters of “control.”- Auckland “Star.”
