Fair, waited on Air Downie Stewart, and suggested that the money spent by the local Borough Council on work for the relief of unemployment should l>e subsidised hy the Government. The Minister, in reply, said that the view previously taken by the Government was that the money spent in the Boroughs and Cities would hardly he extra work, but would have been expended in any ease. However, he would consider the request and lay it before the Cabinet.
