A CORRECTION. WELLINGTON, May 9. In a Press Association message from Foilding. dated April 7th. it was reported that as a result of a police raid on a two-up school, various men were convicted and fined. Among those mentioned as having been convicted "'as Leslie Kirkealdie. and it is now ascertained that the charge against ATr Kirkealdie was not proceeded with, anti the police eventually applied to have the case struck out. and this was done. The Press Association lias to express its regret for the error made and to take the earliest opportunity of publishing this correction.
KILLED BY MOTOR CAR. DUNEDIN, May 9. James Speed, aged 70, a jobbing gardener was knocked down hv a motor car last evening, dying later in the hospital.
