BRITISH NOTH PRFSKXTKD
WASHINGTON. May 0
While it is made clear that the British debt note incident is not considered closed, it is emphasised in informed quarters that this note should not necessarily be accepted as an attempt to reopen the Brilisli-Aineriean debt agreement, and also that il •' reconsideration of this agreement is to be sought, it will be at some time 111 the future, and under quite a diflerent procedure. It is admitted, however, that the matter is not at rest in this country. The second exchange of notes may cause ill-feeling through this country, but it is generally fell, that will be only a temporary Hurry, and that now a calmer view of the whole matter will lie taken.
I'BENCH API’KOYAL. BARIS. May 0. “Le Journal” congratulates Grer Britain on the Note which it declares “caught the United States Governmciil in the very act of making a dishonest manoeuvre.”
