THE ROYAL VISIT.

ADELAIDE, May y. The Duke and Duchess of York continue to have a busy time. The Duke attended a reception at the University where the Doetorship of Laws was conferred upon him and the Duchess "as the guest of the National Council of Women at the Town Hall. In the afternoon the Royalties were present at the Adelaide Cun meeting. The Duke failed to pick the winner in the Adelaide Cup, hut was more fortunate in the Duke of York Stakes. In the evening they were the guests of the citizens at a hall in the Exhibition Hall. There were big crowds who gave enthusiastic welcomes To-day they leave on a private visit to the country. With five hundred guests from all parts of the Commonwealth invited to the official ceremonies, they arrive by special trains at Canberra on Sunday.
