The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed and the outward correspondence approved. I NAVA RI) CORRESPONDENCE. From Canterbury Progress League and Alaiiborougli Progress League forwarding copy of minutes.—Received. From Publicity Department forwarding copy of booklet.—Received with thanks. From R. AVild. forwarding copy of report regarding tint,her delegation. - Received with thanks. From Chamber of Commerce relating to delegate Io Publicity Conference at Wellington.—Received. The Secretary reported attendance at the meeting when Dr Teiehelmann and Afr Evans had been appointedd delegates to, the Conference which was to sit. ou AAAd tie.sclay. GENERAL. Air Bruce referred to the fact that the AVost Coast Sounds had nut been charted, and suggested that a request he made to the Government to have the locality chartered by the Mamie Department when (he Government steamer was carrying out the coastal survey. The proposal wt.s agreed to. Air Bruce also referred to the fact that some of the business people in Christchurch were advising people not to come to the Coast. A ease had been brought under his notice v here a. hotel-keeper had endeavoured to stop oversea visitors visiting AA'estland. At tho. same' time Air Ilriue was pleased to see that the publicity efforts of the League were meeting with marked success, tlie influx of visitors this year being a record. It was decided to ask the Canterbury Progress League to take up the matter with the hotelkeepers in Christchurch with a view to counteracting the harm attempted r.u lie done.

The Secretary mentioned the proposal to send an. exhibit t> the Dunedin winter show from the KokntuhiKoiterangi district. Air Jeffries moved that- pleasure and gratification he expressed at the proposed action. Ah Alnokpy seconded.—Carried.

The Secretary reported that the Railway Department had replied stating it was regretted passenger accommodation could not he added to the goods trains running between Hokitika and Grcvinouth. Regret was expre that the Department could not comply with the suggestion. Afr Afelntosh moved application, he made In the Enginecr-in-Chief of tho Public Works Department for a grant for a road connection between Runtnpti and Lake Aluhinnpim. Afr Bruce seconded.—Cn rried. On the motion of the Chairman it was resolved to write the Railways- Department and express thanks for the booklet issued to advertise the winter trin to (lie Franz Josef Glacier.
