WEST AND HOSPITAL BOARD

WEDNESDAY. ABRIL 27th. The Board met at 8 p.m. Present : .Messrs J. J. Breeze (Chairman), W. Jeffries, E. A. Wells, G. Davidson, L. H. Morel and R. Mehnrry. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved.

IX AY AR 1) COR RMS PON DENI E. From Hospitals Department., approving of proposed capital expenditure.— Received. From National Provident Fund in reference to repayments.—Received. From Public Trust office acknowledging receipt of interest due.—Received.

From Westland County Council approving of proposed levy for year.— Received.

From Hokitika Borough Council accepting levy for tho year.—Received. From Dr Booth, Kumara, applying for leave of absence.—Received and action taken approved. From Mrs A. Silvcy, resigning position as cook at hospital, owing to ill health, after 15 years’ service.—Received with regret, the Chairman and Mr Davidson tributing the excellent services rendered.

From Napier W.C.T. Union, forwarding resolution urging a six days’ week for nurses.—Received. From North Canterbury Board, replying to enquiries as to cost of articles required.—Received. It was resolved to order a number of articles required.

The House Committee notified receipt of a number of gifts received by the matron.—Received. Accounts amounting to £42(3 IDs lid were passed for payment.

Outdoor relief as revised by the Committee was approved. The Treasurer reported receipts £6BB 15s Id, payments £l2Ol 15s 4d, debit balance £432 ]7s.—Received. AN ANNUAL LEVY.

The Chairman moved that the annual levy on local bodies as submitted to he approved, amounting to £2645 12s Od, he now struck.. Seconded by Mr Jeffries and carried.
